Often up to 500 points can be awarded, please check with whom you are registered for their guidelines on how many points they award for online courses, as they all differ. To give you an example: FHT, Thinktree and others who accredit and approve our courses award CPD points to all distance learning online courses but they all award different amounts of points, no two professional bodies are the same. This is why when you check with the professional body you are with, they will be happy to let you know what’s awarded as we cannot set the number of CPD points, this is done by the accreditation bodies themselves.

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training will enable you to work in a teaching role and progress on to a broader teaching qualification. This qualification is suitable for trainee teachers, those experienced in a teaching role and those working as assessors who wish to gain a teaching qualification.

Learners who successfully complete this qualification will have a fundamental understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of learners. They will be able to use initial and diagnostic assessments and plan and deliver inclusive teaching and learning. They will also be able to assess learning and use appropriate resources to support effective learning.

This course is approved and regulated by TQUK. TQUK are an Ofqual recognised Awarding organisation, providing a wide range of vocational qualifications to FE Colleges and private training providers. As an Ofqual recognised Awarding organisation, all of TQUK's qualifications are guaranteed to conform to a high standard.

This qualification has been mapped to the relevant Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), National Occupational Standards (NOS), and sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) On successful completion of this course, you will achieve the Ofqual recognised, Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.

The Total Qualification Time (as set out by TQUK) is 360 hours. This course is a distance learning course and so can be completed at your own convenience. You will be fully guided and supported by your own personal tutor and you have up to a year to complete the course.

To complete this course learners need to have access to 30 hours of teaching practice and be at least 19 years of age.

So, if you are already teaching then this is great, but if you are not then this course is still for you, you just need to contact local training providers/further education colleges to enquire about whether you can complete 30 hours of teaching practice with them. Regarding education, there are no formal prerequisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification, however the following is advisable:
